Kajal Agarwal (Hindi:काजल अगरवाल; born on 19 June 1985) is an Indian actress,[1] who has appeared in Telugu and Tamil films. She made her acting debut in Bollywood, and had her first huge commercial success at the box office in the Telugu movie Chandamama and in Tamil movie Saroja. She rose to prominence after her performance as Yuvarani Mitravinda and Indu in the 2009 Telugu film Magadheera which turned out to be her biggest Tollywood commercial success.
Kajal made her acting debut in the 2004 Hindi film Kyun… Ho Gaya Na!, in which she enacted a minor supporting role as the friend of Diya, the film’s lead, played by Aishwarya Rai. She got her next acting offer only 3 years later, which was veteran Tamil director Bhrathiraja’s Bommalattam. The film, however, got delayed and released only in late 2008.
In the meantime, she made her debut in the Telugu film industry and played her first leading role in Teja’s Lakshmi Kalyanam alongside Kalyan Ram, which did not do well at the box office. Later that year, she appeared in the Krishna Vamsi-directed film Chandamama, which became her first major successul film.
